All our short tours on sit-on-top kayaks depart from the sheltered water of d’Albora Marina, Nelson Bay. You can choose from any of our 3 types of tours.

  • A 1 hr introduction Beginners paddle, learn the basics of kayaking without having to paddle too far.
  • A 2-3hr Intermediate Dolphin Tour – this tour is designed to go out exploring for dolphins. While we are out looking for dolphins you can also observe fairy penguins, turtles, white breasted sea eagles and many other different types of flora and fauna which inhabit the area.
  • A 1 hr Champagne Sunset Tour – paddle around watching the endless wildlife, pull up on a white sandy beach , sit back with a glass of bubbly and watch the colours change then slowly paddle back into the setting sun. A tour for the romantics or a true nature lover. Departs 1 hr before Sunset.

Our day tours allow you to explore and experience Port Stephen’s magnificent waterways to their fullest. Departing from Shoal Bay with Tomaree headland towering over you, paddle across the bay to Yacabba headland. Once over the other side paddle past rocky cliff faces, along pristine beaches (Jimmy’s Beach), stop at Barnes Rocks for morning tea or maybe even a snorkel. Continue on past the start of the Myall River around Corrie Island exploring mangrove lined estuaries, the abundance of bird and water life, as well as paddling around various oyster leases. Stop for lunch on a deserted white sandy beach looking out over Port Stephens of the Myall River. After lunch paddle back on the lookout for dolphins and other sea life. The tour departs 3 days per week Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from Shoal Bay boat ramp.

Our overnight tours are designed so everyone can experience the wonders that camping can provide. We supply all the camping equipment, except bedding (sleeping bags), all kayaking equipment, food plus catering. The kayaks we use are double and single enclosed kayaks. If you don’t want to kayak the whole time one of our experienced guides can take you on a fully guided bush walk through the Myall Lakes National Park. Explore Cabbage Tree Palm Swamps, walk amongst 500 year old paper bark trees, discover relics from abandoned timber mills, learn about ancient Aboriginal midden sites, or just simply sit back on the banks of Myall Lake and relax.
